The contestants eyed each other across the game field, glancing occasionally at their meager instrumentation and revving their engines, listening to the screaming roar of the jet turbines. Twitching anxiously, they awaited the signal to begin their fierce competition -- the signal that would begin a battle for survival.

The signal gun fired, and the contestants gunned their motors, racing headlong toward each other, breaking off only at the last moment. As they sped recklessly across the beaten turf, they left behind a trail of a powerful liquid explosive. Both of them knew what would happen if they were to hit one of these trails. The only reason they were still alive was because they were seasoned TrailBlazers!

TrailBlazers! is an action game in the light-cycles genre. Two players control individual TrailBikes speeding around the screen, leaving deadly trails behind them. Impacting a trail loses the game.

This is one of the very, very few games ever written that uses the double low-resolution graphics mode available only on the enhanced Apple IIe, IIc, IIc Plus, and IIGS.
