Requires Apple IIgs System 6.0 or later
Apple IIgs System 6.0 and 6.0.1 provide a standard error dialog box function (ErrorWindow) which is used by a lot of applications. This function provides a standard error message for an error code specified by the application. Unfortunately, by default, this function only has actual messages for a handful of errors—for everything else, it just displays a cryptic message like "Error #$5555 occurred."
That's helpful. Yeah. Right.
ErrorStrings Installer patches the Sys.Resources file that comes with the System Software to add messages for every standard Apple IIgs error, so you 'll be able to really understand what's gone wrong. Or at least you'll be able to tell the author of your favorite software that "An invalid TextEdit handle was specified."
Whatever that means.
My thanks to Ken Lucke for providing the error message resources installed by ErrorStrings Installer.
