LotsaTools is a valuable extension that causes the most commonly-used Apple IIgs Tool Sets to be preloaded into memory when your computer is first started up, and to stay there. Normally, these are loaded from disk every time you start a program (or open a desk accessory) that uses them, and are removed from memory when the program is done with them.
That means that every time you launch a program or open a desk accessory, there may be a delay while tool sets are loaded from disk. With LotsaTools installed, this delay is gone, shaving precious seconds (sometimes 10 or 15 seconds, depending on the program and the speed of your disk drive) from the time it takes to open a program or desk accessory.
LotsaTools is especially valuable if you're booting from floppy disks; with LotsaTools, you may find that you don't have to swap disks as often, since the tool sets no longer have to be loaded from the boot disk every time you launch a program!
